Lock Out Doubts and Fears

You have your plan, you’re taking action steps each day. Life is good…until you get interrupted by the voice. It’s the critic that will at some point raise its ugly head. This is the voice of doubt and fear. You must lock out doubts and fears.

Depending on the nature of your goal or dream, the voice will be more insistent. This voice of fear and doubt sounds like this:

What makes you think you can write a book?

Lose weight, are you kidding me? You’ve always failed.

Other people are successful, but not you.

Are you crazy? You’re too old for this, or, are you crazy? You’re too young for this.

Don’t let the critic stop you. Stick to your plan and take action steps each day.

We can be our own worst enemies. It’s also super important to have the support of other people who believe in you.

Remember when I said that change happens because we make a decision? The decisions we make stack on top of each other as we live our lives. There are negative or positive consequences for every decision we make. Decide to believe in you and your dreams! Choose to have faith and resolve and not listen to the voices of doubt and fear. The more secure you are as your heart leads you and guides you, the more distant the voices of doubt and fear will become.

There is an acronym for fear – False Evidence Appearing Real.  When we are afraid, it feels very real! Our heart may pound, we may feel like we are going to die. Most of the time the fears we have never happen.  Answer the critic:

I can too write a book. People tell me I’m a good writer.

I can lose this weight once and for all!

I AM successful, I’m just learning something new.

I’m not too old.

I’m not too young.

The more you push forward and move through your fear, your fear will turn into courage. The more steps you take towards your dream, the more courageous you will be. So, lock out doubts and fears!
